Emulation of Pan North XI (2018)

Client:

Year:

The original Pan North XI is a quintesssential example of Al Held's hard-edge paintings, which sought to simulate three-dimensional space within the confines of a canvas. This piece is an emulation of the painting, and seeks to understand the immersive experience of the abstract world Held created by invoking the opposite of his process: modeling the space and placing it on a two-dimensional plane.
